"Tum ek khooni ho"
Ek criminal ho tum,
"You are not my child",
My child can never do this, a man spoke in a cold, firm voice. His eyes burned with anger, hurt, and pain.
A 14-year-old child cried, "Baba, main khooni nahi hu, Baba. Please, mujhe mat chhoriye, Baba.
Baba, main aapke bina kaise rahunga, Baba? PLEASE!"
"Tu ek criminal hai"
"MERE LIYE AAJ SE MERA BETA MAR GAYA HAI", The man's eyes burned with tears, anger, and pain.
He turned his back on his own son that day.
That child stumbled as he ran, tears blurring his vision. His cries echoed in the empty streets, but no one stopped.
That day, he didn't just lose his father..he lost his entire world.
---
He jolted awake, breathing heavily. Sweat covered his forehead. For a moment, he couldn't tell whether he was still trapped in that nightmare or back in reality.
"Beta... beta, wake up. It's already morning," a woman's gentle voice came. She caressed his forehead like a mother does with her child.
He slowly turned towards her and forced a small smile "good morning, maa".
The woman smiled back. "Good morning, beta...
Phir se wahi sapna dekha tumne?"
He looked down, avoiding her eyes and her question.
She sighed. "Maine tumse kaha tha na ki in cheezon ke baare mein mat socha karo. Uss baat ko 14 saal ho gaye hai...
ab yeh sab bhula do".
He looked at her and said, "Kaise bhool jau, maa?
"Uss ek din ne sirf meri zindagi nahi badli..meri pehchaan bhi mujhse cheen li"
Jis cheez se meri poori duniya badal gai,
jis din ne meri poori zindagi idhar se udhar kar di... us din ko kaise bhula du main?"
She caressed his hair and said, " Mai jaanti hu tumne kya khoya hai".
"Chalo, is topic ko ab yahi end karo. Ready ho jao, aaj tumhari pasand ke aalu parathe banaye hain breakfast mein."
She gave him a forehead kiss, then went out of the room.
He stood up from his bed, looked at himself in the mirror and said to himself,
"Ready for a new day, Devansh Shekhawat".
